Unity Day – Saturday, March 16, 2024
Unity Day, organized by the Bonner Leaders, celebrated students’ cultures across campus, with student-made food from countries, like Jamaican beef patties and a Turkish Turko Napoleon, as well as performances from Seismic Step and the Universal Sounds Gospel Choir. Dayna Milner ’24, who helped organize the event, made the Jamaican beef patties, and performed in the Universal Sounds Gospel Choir, said “Unity Day is a day where we bring together different cultures through our food and performing arts. A day where we can all unify our differences and see our likeness in and within each other.”
Joey Nolan Named Watson Fellow
Nolan’s project, “Staging Sustainability: How Theater Reflects Environmental Consciousness,” will take place across Japan, Greece, Bhutan, New Zealand, and Indonesia over the next year. “Through the lens of theater, I will explore how different groups learn about and grapple with their ecological footprints, environmental crises, aspirations for a sustainable future, and a deeper connection to Earth,” he wrote on the Watson website. Good luck on your travels!
