The Grizzly is the @ursinuscollege weekly school newspaper, produced by and for the students of the college. 🐻

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Editorial Applications for The Gr 🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Editorial Applications for The Grizzly for the upcoming school year are now OPEN! 

We are accepting applications for ALL positions, which include:

Editor-In-Chief
News Editor
Features Editor
Opinions Editor
Sports Editor
Photo Editor
Website Editor
Social Media Editor
Design/Layout Editor

News, Features, Opinions, and Sports are sections where editors plan topics, coordinate with writers, and complete layouts for physical newspapers in Adobe InDesign on Mondays at 4:30pm. The Photo Editor communicates with photographers to make photo assignments, collects and uploads photos, and helps with photo and file formatting. The Website Editor maintains the website and uploads new articles and photographs. The Social Media Editor posts content primarily to Instagram. The Design Editor maintains the print design (formatted in Adobe InDesign) as well as helps section editors with technical difficulties during layout meetings.

All positions are required to attend the 4:30pm Monday meetings. If selected, one MCS credit is available which also counts towards the Creative Writing major/minor.

To apply, please submit a short cover letter explaining your interest in the position, one page resume, and a writing sample to this email with the subject line [ROLE] EDITOR APPLICATION. Applications due APRIL 15TH. 

New writers and photographers are always welcome and do not need to apply. One MCS credit is also available for writers who write 5 well-written articles or for photographers who coordinate with the Photo Editor and complete photo assignments. In order to receive credit, both writers and photographs must be regularly involved (as defined by attending pitch meetings, updating editors if they have a conflict, etc.).
