Both of Ursinus’s tennis teams are fully in the swing of things again as their seasons continue through the Spring. Here is how both teams are faring so far. The men’s team has played exceptionally of late, winning two of their last three versus Dickinson College and Eastern University, before unfortunately picking up a loss against West Chester. This brings the team’s total record to 9 wins and 6 losses on the year so far, including an impressive four match win streak as a team during March. After their most recent loss, the men fell to 3-4 on the road while boasting an impressive 6-2 record here at home. T he team’s impressive home record will come as a serious advantage for the team, given their upcoming schedule. Two of their three upcoming matches will be played here in Collegeville, versus Gettysburg and Franklin and Marshall. The Bears’ men have been doing very well in singles matches while struggling a little in doubles. The team seems to be finding its footing more recently, though, with a win percentage around .540 in singles and a little below .500 in doubles and slowly moving up. T he upcoming schedule will be a great opportunity to showcase that improvement, with a slew of conference opponents. As for the women’s team, it has been an up and down season. There have been a few nice win streaks, but currently, the team sits one game below .500, at 6-7 on the season. While their record has dipped, they are strong at home, with a 5-2 record. With three of their last five matches here in Collegeville, there is no doubt they still have a chance to finish above .500, and go on a nice run to end the season. Throughout the season, the women’s team has certainly shown flashes. They started the year with a three match win streak, while also getting back-toback wins against DeSales and Drew in March. They’ve also had a rough stretch recently, though, going 1-3 in their last four matches, but still have time to get back on track and get some more wins. T he season wraps up against Franklin and Marshall, for what will also be their senior day. Overall, both teams have had good seasons, with struggles at times and moments of greatness. They both also still have time to finish up their seasons strong, with just a few weeks until the end of the season. We wish both our Women’s and Men’s Bears good luck for the rest of the year!
