Ursinus College’s #Giving2UCday, an event focused on giving to the college’s Annual Fund and other areas of the college community, is being held on Tuesday, November 30th this year. “Our 8th annual #Giving2UCday is the college’s largest single-day giving event of the year, and coincides with internationally recognized Giving Tuesday,” said Vice President of Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow, Kevyn Dewees ‘22. “Each #Giving2UCday gift supports Ursinus College’s Annual Fund or another designated area of need, and provides vital resources for our students,” she added.

Donations made on November 30th will have a lasting impact on the Ursinus community. Dewees mentioned that “when you give on #Giving2UCday, your gift becomes a ROAR that echoes across campus for generations. Donations made on #Giving2UCday (and any day) support nearly every part of the unique Ursinus experience.” Those who donate are also able to contribute to specific areas of the Ursinus community that are especially important to them. “You can donate to the Annual Fund generally, or choose a specific designation for your donation [eg. Bear2Bear Student Emergency Fund, Bruins Club/Athletics, research, student life, and so much more],” she furthered. It is recommended that all donors choose an area that is meaningful to them. This allows current and future bears to benefit from all Ursinus has to offer.

Anyone is able to participate and is encouraged to make a donation of any size.

“You can also participate by spreading the word to your friends and engaging on social media with @ucbearsforlife, @ucalumni, and @whatsup_ursinus and the hashtags #UrsinusCollege and #Giving2UCday.” Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow and the Senior Class Gift Committee will be outside the Bear’s Den from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to host the ROAR-a-thon, so be sure to stop by.

There are several ways to get involved with this annual tradition. “Students can make their donation and receive fun UC SWAG items!” Donations can be made in person or online, but online donations are strongly encouraged. Please note: there is a five dollar minimum for online gifts. Though, those who give over five dollars will be eligible to spin the wheel inside the Bears’ Den to earn UC goodies. The link to donate can be found on the Ursinus website: https://giving2ucday.ursinus.edu

Giving back to the campus community and others is important every day of the year, not just on November 30th. Giving back doesn’t always involve a monetary donation, either. “Philanthropy is not just about money, but can be time, talent, or treasure. If making a monetary donation is not in the cards for someone, that is ok! We

encourage everyone to think of how they can support the campus community in any way possible,” Dewees concluded
